Job Purpose and Impact

The Trade Compliance Excellence Associate Director will use extensive trade compliance knowledge to identify, document, develop and provide compliance for complex and demanding activities for a region. In this role, you will provide high quality service with focus on continuous improvement. You will develop and implement trade compliance operations and sensitized data strategies, manage processes and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop goals and objectives for the benefit of the business.

Work in hybrid system (2 days in the office). Location is subject to compliance check and approval. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the strategy and development of complex technical cross border compliance planning solutions to assemble customs benefits and mitigate the risks.
  • Develop, implement and enhance regional trade compliance operations and sensitized data management systems and processes to harmonize and align to a scalable framework of standards to secure and facilitate global trade and address new and emerging developments in the international supply chain.
  • Develop trade compliance operations and sensitized data strategy and implement best practices to resolve complex trade compliance issues and operationalize corporate policies and risk control frameworks to comply with laws and regulations including those administered by government agencies.
  • Identify and document trade compliance operations, classification and free trade agreement opportunities and gaps in procedures, in partnership with relevant functional experts as appropriate.
  • Foster relationships with internal stakeholders, government and third parties to ensure compliance and free flow of our goods.
  • Direct and oversee the execution of trade compliance operations and sensitized data training and pre and post transaction review for team activities.
  • Leverage industry best practices and single window and supply chain security program management to develop cross border solutions that benefit company businesses.
  • Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Confirmed ability to instruct others to synthesize complex concepts into easily understood messages and stories
  • Strong executive presence, stakeholder management and strategic planning expertise
  • Proven knowledge of HS code classification processes and preferential origin qualification.
  • Deep understanding of international commercial terms, cross border supply chain and indirect tax related to cross border trade
  • Confirmed advanced knowledge with customs regulations, complex classification, origin determination and free trade program management
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years of supervisory experience
